frequently asked questions

WHO CAN BE TREATED?

  • Most all adult females with women’s health & wellness concerns particularly urinary incontinence or pelvic floor weakness.

IS IT PAINFUL?

  • Most patients find this very comfortable. VTone is a small anatomically shaped applicator that is placed into the vaginal canal. The electrical stimulation is started and increased slowly until you feel that it is effective. As your pelvic floor muscles strengthen, you will notice the amount of electrical stimulation will also increase.

IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?

  • There is no downtime. We ask patients to avoid sexual intercourse or the use of mechanical vibrator within the treated area for 2 days.

HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?

  • The number of treatment sessions depends on the individual patient and is typically up to 6 sessions, every 1-3 weeks but can vary according to patient response. This is working on pelvic muscle strength so the more sessions you do the stronger the pelvic floor muscles become.

WILL THIS NEED TO BE REPEATED?

  • This treatment is working on pelvic floor strength. This should help you identify which muscles to contract with kegel exercises at home. Most people would want to come every 3-12 months depending on the severity of the initial symptoms. The patient should return when you start to feel any symptoms coming back.
